Privacy Policy

This website (summerchang.co, the “Site”) is operated by Summer Chang (“I,” “me,” or “Summer Chang Design”), an independent product designer and design consultant. I am the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach me at contact@summerchang.co.

I only collect information you choose to share with me. That includes:

• Contact / project inquiries. When you submit the contact form, I collect your name, email address, LinkedIn URL, phone number, project budget range, timeline, and any project details you describe.
• Consent records. If you opt in to receive an automated call, I record that you gave consent, the exact consent language shown to you, and the date and time you agreed — this is required for telephone-consent compliance.
• Newsletter subscriptions.When you subscribe, I collect your email address and the page you subscribed from. Subscriptions use double opt-in, so you must confirm via a link before you're added.
• Direct correspondence. If you email me or book a call, I keep the contents of that correspondence and any scheduling details.

Like most websites, my hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you visit. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and understanding aggregate traffic. The Site does not use advertising trackers, and I do not sell your personal information.

When you submit the contact form and check the consent box, an AI voice assistant (“Bookee”) may place an outbound call to the phone number you provided to answer questions about my design services and help schedule a meeting. By submitting the form with consent checked:

• You agree to receive an automated/AI-assisted call at the number you provided.
• Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service.
• Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
• The call may be processed to verify your number, understand your inquiry, and book time on my calendar. To support the call, your phone number and the context of your inquiry are shared with the service providers listed below.

You can decline or end the call at any time, and you can ask me to stop contacting you by emailing contact@summerchang.co.

• Respond to your inquiry and discuss a potential project.
• Place the AI-assisted call you consented to and schedule meetings.
• Send the newsletter you subscribed to, and let you unsubscribe at any time.
• Operate, secure, and improve the Site.
• Comply with legal obligations and keep records of consent.

I don't sell your data. I share it only with the third-party services that help run this Site and the inquiry workflow, and only as needed for them to perform their function:

• Vercel — website hosting and request logs.
• Notion — storing inquiry submissions and newsletter subscribers.
• Dograh — orchestrating the AI voice call.
• Twilio — phone-number validation and telephony for the call.
• Anthropic (Claude) — generating a short business summary from your public LinkedIn/website to prepare for the call.
• ElevenLabs — voice synthesis for the AI assistant.
• Google — calendar availability and meeting scheduling, and Gmail for sending email.
• Cloudflare — serving images and media assets.

Each provider processes your information under its own privacy terms. I may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Newsletter emails are sent only after you confirm via double opt-in. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also ask to be removed at any time by emailing contact@summerchang.co. Transactional messages (such as a confirmation email or a meeting confirmation) are sent in response to your actions and are not marketing.

I keep inquiry and subscriber information for as long as needed to respond to you, maintain our relationship, and meet legal or record-keeping obligations (including consent records). When information is no longer needed, I delete it or remove identifying details. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information I hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Opt out of marketing and withdraw consent.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these, email contact@summerchang.coand I'll respond within a reasonable timeframe. I won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

I use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security, but I work to protect your data and limit access to what's necessary.

This Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I will delete it.

The Site is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where my service providers operate. By using the Site, you understand your information may be transferred to locations with different data-protection laws than your own.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted on the Site.
